Therapy

Everybody is unique so I don’t offer a ‘one size fits all’ therapy. Based on our initial conversations we will both come up with a plan together regarding the best way forward.  I use  various tools and techniques from different therapeutic models such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, EMDR, yoga and nature, asking for feedback from you along the way.  I aim to provide a non-blaming, friendly, yet professional environment to help you make positive changes in your life.   The therapy journey isn’t always an easy one and it will require commitment and practice but it is usually worth it in the end!

There's no 'one size fits all' therapy. I use 30 years of experience to find the best fit

My Working Hours

I currently work school hours 8.30-3.30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, term-time only.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and can be spaced to suit your needs (usually, weekly, fortnightly or monthly).

Location

I am based in Otley, West Yorkshire and see people at a private studio in my garden. It is situated on the banks of the River Wharfe, which very much facilitates the use of nature with many clients. The river is a metaphor that is often used to describe the twists and turns of life. Taking time out of the busy river with its ever-ending current, rocks, eddies and rapids to sit on the bank of the River, allows us to adopt an ‘observer’ position to reflect on how you got there, together with which tools (aids) and support you need to help you swim in the direction you want to go, and to navigate the obstacles and dangers in your way.

*Please note that I also work online (via Zoom, WhatsApp video, email, text or phone, or can walk/sit outside -eco-therapy). We can discuss what would suit you best.

A natural setting helps the therapy room feel like a safe space
